Welcome to The Greyswood Practice
The Greyswood Practice moved to Eastwood Street in June 2004. There had been a practice on our Mitcham Lane site since 1905 when the building was opened as a doctor's surgery with accommodation above. However, due to the growth of the surgery and the need to provide better conditions for the patients and staff, the doctors and Primary Care Trust decided it was time to move on and we are now happily settled in our new premises.
The practice has steadily grown in recent years and we now have around 9400 patients. We serve a residential area of West Streatham, Tooting and Mitcham. The practice straddles Lambeth, Wandsworth and Merton Boroughs.
We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
Serving You
Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.
COVID-19 Advice
If you have a high temperature, a new continuous cough, a runny nose, continuous sneezing or have loss of taste or smell, please do not attend the surgery and book a PCR Covid-19 Test. A Lateral flow test is not adequate if you are symptomatic. If you are unsure as to how to do this please visit NHS website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/ or call 119 to arrange a test. Please note Gps are not able to book these tests.
New NHS Guidance
NHS guidance has now changed and no longer supports prescribing of over the counter treatments for minor/self-limiting conditions. You can visit your local pharmacy to obtain treatments for minor health conditions and immediate clinical advice. If you have something more serious, the pharmacist is trained to signpost you to the right medical care. For further information, please click here.
Partners in Care
Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.
Access
The Greyswood Practice is a modern purpose-built practice which has good disabled access. The front door to the building has push button entry for wheelchair users and once in the reception area there is a low level window for patients to use to make it easier to speak to the receptionist. We have a lift for easy access to the upper floors. There are disabled WCs on the ground and first floors with Braille signs on the doors.
8 to 8 GP Hub Appointments
You can now be seen by a GP outside of the practice opening hours at one of the 8 to 8 GP hubs in 3 of the Wandsworth localities. The consulting GP will have access to your full medical history and will document the consultation directly into your notes. These appointments are available up to 8pm during the week and on Saturdays and Sundays
You can only be booked into the hub by staff here at the practice who will decide if it is appropriate for you to be given a hub appointment. Please be aware these appointments are limited and are also for other local practices to use also. If in the event there are no appointments at a hub you will be advised to wait for the next available appointment at the Practice.
